This is a bundle of three presentations on Emily Davison, Emmeline Pankhurst and Millicent Fawcett, who all fought for votes for women.
The Emmeline Pankhurst presentation covers Emmeline’s childhood, the suffrage movement, her protests, her imprisonment and the results of the movement.
The presentation on Emily Davison covers Emily’s education, before moving onto her actions in the suffragette movement, her imprisonment and finally her death and legacy.
The presentation on Millicent Fawcett covers her childhood, early political involvement and the successful suffrage movement.
Please note that there are no photos of the women included, owing to copyright restrictions.
The last part of each presentation includes some interesting questions to provoke discussion.

This resource includes an assembly plan and 19 slide PowerPoint for you to use for Women’s History Month or International Women’s Day on 8th March. You can use it without any further preparation.
The assembly is suitable to use with KS2 or secondary aged children. The slideshow provides the opportunity to discuss why we might focus on women’s history, before moving on to give details on how women’s circumstances changed from ancient times to today. There are 10 slides which outline key achievements of 10 different women, from Marie Curie to J K Rowling.
The plan (pdf) gives details about how to use the slideshow. I like to lead assemblies that are interactive and relevant to the children’s lives, so the plan gives plenty of opportunity for children to discuss ideas, give feedback and reflect.

This is a 4 page plan for an assembly (pdf) on Ash Wednesday, with a focus on the theme of consequences for our actions. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute!
In this assembly, children listen to an Old Testament story. There is a 16 slide animated PowerPoint included which contains the story. (This is not editable. The plan finishes by introducing children to what happens on Ash Wednesday and how this is linked to the story the children have heard and to their own lives.
